Robin us
ROBIN US
He once stole from the rich and gave to the poor.
Now the tables have turned.
Robin Us reimagines the legendary outlaw confronting the modern taxman — placing the HMRC figure in handcuffs and turning the familiar story of Robin Hood on its head.
The piece plays with the feeling that ordinary people are constantly being squeezed while those at the top continue to prosper. It combines humour, satire and nostalgia to question who is really taking from whom in the modern world.
Created in Underground Art’s distinctive hand-painted, textured and stencil-inspired style, Robin Us is a rebellious look at money, power and a system that can sometimes feel stacked against the people living within it.
Stealing from the rich was a crime.
Taking from everyone else became policy.
